Project description

Meta's Hyperion campus sits on 2,250 acres of former farmland in Richland Parish, Louisiana. Meta broke ground in December 2024 and first put the project at more than $10 billion, and a $27 billion joint venture with Blue Owl later financed its buildings. In July 2026 Meta said it is expanding the campus to 5 GW of compute capacity, an investment of more than $50 billion. Entergy Louisiana is building new natural gas plants to serve it, approved by state regulators in August 2025, and Meta has committed to help fund up to 2.5 GW of clean and renewable energy. Meta said in December 2025 that the first phase is expected to open in 2028.
