Project description
The former Duke Energy plant at 2875 Stanton Road South in Southaven, bought by xAI in July 2025 and converted into a behind the meter power plant for its Memphis area data centers. Mississippi regulators approved 41 permanent gas turbines in March 2026 for about 1.2 gigawatts, replacing the temporary turbines on site. This is a power asset, not a data center, so it is never counted in campus totals.
