Project description
A 10 GW AI campus at the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Pike County, developed by SoftBank's SB Energy with a 20-year lease signed by OpenAI and NVIDIA as exclusive compute provider. Officials broke ground in March 2026; the first 800 MW phase starts construction in 2026 with capacity coming online from 2028 through a six-year buildout to 2032. A separately announced $33 billion gas plant is planned to power it.
