Box Elder County commissioners unanimously approved the Stratos project May 4, 2026 after MIDA approval in late April; the campus in Hansel Valley (~40 miles west of Tremonton) spans up to 40,000 acres across three parcels, would require 9 GW, has a Phase 1 permit under 2,000 acres, and a projected final cost exceeding $100B, with a first gigawatt possible within two years.
