Project description
The Barber County Commission voted 2-0-1 to approve the agreement for Google's 'Project Helium' data center near Sharon, about 8 miles east of Medicine Lodge. The 1.7M sq ft facility will use closed-loop air cooling. Construction is set to begin in the first months of 2027 with initial operations in 2030, and it's expected to bring about 500 permanent jobs and about $10M a year in property tax.
