Project description

The Black Sea AI Gigafactory represents a 5 billion euro initiative aimed at positioning Romania as an Eastern European high-performance computing hub. The facility will be constructed near Cernavoda's nuclear power plant, leveraging a 1.5 GW energy mix combining nuclear and renewable sources. The project plans to deploy 100,000 AI accelerators serving the Black Sea region. As part of the EU AI Factories program, it seeks to provide startups and researchers with large-scale, sovereign AI compute capacity.
