Microsoft is seeking rezoning (PUD to light industrial) of the southern section of the former Steelcase wood plant on 68th St SE in Gaines Township south of Grand Rapids for a data center, having bought 316 acres for $45.3M in 2024 plus additional parcels; closed-loop cooling and Consumers Energy capacity expansion proposed.
