Project description
Microsoft is asking to rezone the southern section of the former Steelcase wood plant on 68th St SE in Gaines Township, south of Grand Rapids, from PUD to light industrial for a data center. It bought 316 acres for $45.3M in 2024, plus additional parcels. Closed-loop cooling and a Consumers Energy capacity expansion are proposed.
